The lesson “The Value of Creating a Budget” teaches children why keeping a budget is beneficial and essential to financial stability and success. Together the children will create a list of typical family expenses and create different budget categories, estimating the amount of money to be spent in each category. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 9-11 years, and is the 36th lesson in the 2nd Year “Managing Money” unit.
