The curriculum set, “Socio-Emotional Lesson Plans for Ages 9-11, Year 1” is a collection of 52 lessons that will equip children with a strong biblical foundation for socio-emotional growth. The curriculum is contextualized for Africa and uses age appropriate verbiage, activities, and illustrations to engage the child’s mind while enriching their spirit. Lessons will touch on a variety of topics including the emotional development, self-awareness, sexual development, and communication skills. For example, children are encouraged to appreciate the differences in people and understand that individual uniqueness and group differences are gifts from God. All lesson plans include instructions for preparing the material, teaching the lesson with hands-on activities, and assessment of learning. This set of lessons is designed to accompany “Socio-Emotional Lesson Plans for Ages 9-11, Year 2.”
