The lesson “The Healthcare Workers are My Friends” is part 41 of a 42 part series on parts of the human body, health, and safety. This lesson focuses on identifying health care workers and understanding what they do. This resource includes a lesson plan for the teacher on how to prepare beforehand, class-time content to facilitate learning, hands-on activities facilitating further learning, and a teacher assessment at the end. The lesson also has an alternative activity of arranging a visit with a health careworker to speak to the class. This lesson is designed for a group of young children between the ages of 3 and 5, and is the forty-first physical development lesson in theCore Curriculum, 3-5 years, Year One.
