The lesson “Resisting Negative Peer Pressure” teaches children the benefits of effectively following through with one’s decisions to engage in positive versus negative behavior. The children will learn about the meaning of peer pressure and each child will verbalize several reasons why it is important to resist peer pressure. The children will practice decision-making based on sticking to their own positive set of values and beliefs. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 6-8 years, and is the 29th lesson in the 2nd Year Core Curriculum Set and part of the “Social Relationships” unit.
