Youth Development Facilitator's Guide

The “Youth Development Facilitators Guide” is designed for the child development worker or teacher for use with youth ages 12 to 19+. Contextualized for Africa, the guide is a collection of resources designed to equip teachers with the necessary tools to reach youth spiritually, physically, cognitively and socio-emotionally. This Facilitator’s Guide provides guidelines on using the modules, classroom management, understanding learning styles, and assessing the students’ learning. In addition, the appendices provide resources to assist in improving the use of the curriculum. These include explanations of multiple intelligences, dealing with suspected abuse, high-risk behaviors, and the 40 Developmental Assets. This guide is designed to accompany the Holistic Youth Development Curriculum lesson plans.
