The lesson “How to Prevent and Treat Poisoning” helps the mother/caregiver identify poisonous items familiar to her culture and actions to prevent children from accessing poisons. She will also learn symptoms of poisoning in small children, as well as methods of treating poisoning. As part of this lesson, she will make a list of all poisonous items in her home, outside her home, and within her community. She will also verbalize how to protect her child from these items.
