God’s Purpose for You in Your Community

The lesson “God’s Purpose for You in Your Community” teaches children about the application of self and social awareness in making responsible life choices and positively contributing to their community. Children will couple their understanding of community contribution with identifying their own God-given gifts, naming at least one reason why God placed them in their community. Each child will be able to name at least one community purpose he or she might explore in the future. The lesson includes guided instructions for the teacher, including preparation, a script, and suggested activities to facilitate further learning in a fun and interactive manner. This lesson is designed for children between 6-8 years, and is the 37th lesson in the 2nd Year Core Curriculum Set and part of the “Community Awareness” unit.
